As you took the Unit 1 Exam, I collected notebooks. My purpose for collecting the notebooks is not to police and make sure you did your work, but to see how well you are organizing your work, how you are taking notes, and looking at your annotations, summary, and reflections. I was able to finish some notebooks in class, but others I had to collect. We will talk more about notebooks in class on Wednesday.
Wednesday, September 26 - Club Rush
Many of you were concerned with finishing the Unit 1 Exam. I explained how the section that was not completed is going to be used at another time. So, don't think that your studying was futile- vain, useless. It will come in handy; you'll see.
In class, we reviewed and prepared for the upcoming unit. Some notebooks were distributed back to their owners, and we got it ready for Unit 2. Unit 2 Reading Lab Syllabus was distributed and the top portion of it was filled out with your name, professor's name (not just Miss), class time, and due date. Afterewards, we reviewed Ch.1's vocabulary quiz, and you were able to see your scores. The majority of you who took the test passed with flying colors. Then we prepared for Ch. 2's vocabulary quiz as you worked in groups to complete Final Check on pg. 15. Everyone seemed ready! So, I collected the Quizlet tests, and off you went to complete the quiz.
Lessons of the day: I believe there were several lessons that were learned today. One was to be ready, and if you are not, take the responsibilty. Don't come up with stories and excuses! You are only hurting yourself. The other one was because of Tom. Thanks to him, a major lesson that was learned today is never give up! Believe in yourself and what you stand for, and your life will be fruitful.
